THE PATEROS SCHOOL BOARD'S PURPOSE

The Pateros School District Board of Directors is a group of five community members elected to represent a continuing commitment to local citizen control and decision making in education. Board members are elected for four year terms. Board members focus on:

  • Establishing school district goals
  • Providing for program development activities
  • Overseeing the financial affairs of the district
  • Adopting operating policies
  • Systematically reviewing and evaluating all components of the school program
  • Being an advocate for students and schools

MEETING TIMES

The School Board meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the School District Library with the following exceptions: The November and December meetings will be held on the third Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the School District Library. All regular and special Board meetings are open to the public. All actions authorized by Washington State Law are taken during these meetings.

The Board will at times go into Executive Session. The following matters are permissible for discussion in Executive Session: 1) Personnel, 2) Property Considerations, 3) Employment, and 4) Negotiations.

All formal actions of the Board are taken in open session.

 

MEETING PROCEDURES

Anyone wishing to be placed on the meeting agenda should contact the Superintendent’s Office at least one week prior to the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda. Anyone wishing to speak to an item on the agenda during the meeting will need to sign in on the Sign-up sheet at the door and indicate which item(s) they wish to address.

All patrons are welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings.
