The Pateros School District bus drivers
are not just average guys and gals put behind the wheel
of a bus. They are qualified, certified drivers, licensed
by the State of Washington, who have passed rigorous standards
of training. Our drivers have several classroom hours of
education and spend 10 to 20 hours behind the wheel of a
school bus with a state certified trainer before they ever
drive your children. They attend a minimum of 3 hours in
service each year to keep their knowledge and skills current
with the high standards set by the State of Washington.
Our drivers are required to have a Department of Transportation
physical every two years. They must attend First Aid classes
and keep their cards current. They must submit to a background
check from the police department and pass random drug and
alcohol screens. You can be assured that you are putting
your child in very capable hands when they step onto our
safe school buses. Our friendly, caring drivers are not
only professionals but they also care about kids or they
would not have chosen this career.
